Since 2013, Dan Saso has been striving to make his coffee company, Beaver Rock, more sustainable and environmentally friendly.
Beaver Rock, located in Barrie, is a craft coffee roaster that sells whole beans and K-cups.
In his mission to become more efficient, Saso reached out to Georgian College, one of the top 50 research colleges in Canada in 2021, to help manufacture and design a new machine for their K-cup production operation.
Georgian College’s Research and Innovation Department had previously helped Beaver Rock by refurbishing two of its cupping machines.
“We rebuilt them, redesigned them, completely top to bottom,” said Saso. “The machines are working phenomenally well, like just exceptionally well.”
